Mixed media Mindfulfulness Canvas

My friend recently won a weekend meditation retreat in a raffle and she very kindly donated her prize to me.  So, to say thank you, I have created her this mixed media canvas with my favourite Mindfulness quote.

Materials used: Gesso, Acrylic and watercolour paint, sparkle medium, ‘The Black Currant Stack’ paper, gems, pearlescent liquid acrylic, modge podge and Dylusions ink spray.

I just hope that my friend likes it!

Mindfulness Art Journal Page

I recently completed a Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) course at work, which is what inspired this page.  Mindfulness is all about being present from moment to moment and helps you to gain a greater understanding about yourself through meditation practices.

The meditation helps you to tune in to your body and mind and gives you a shocking insight into your own head! It has made me realise how much I worry and how stressed I have been feeling and has enabled me to take steps to look after myself a little better.

The fairy in this acrylic painting was inspired by the wonderful artwork by Suzi Blu.
