Well, I have finally set up a Facebook page! I have been hesitant to do it as I don’t want friends and colleagues scrutinising my artwork. I guess this boils down to insecurities and fears of criticism. For some reason it’s easier to have strangers look at my art!
Do you find this too? Or do you prefer to keep it among friends?
If you would like to keep up to date with my latest projects, please ‘like’ my Facebook page! It’s very unloved at the moment!!!
You can find it here
Anyway, I’ve just finished this mixed media canvas today. She’s a cute big eye girl with lots of sparkles, texture and an air of magic!
This was created using gesso, dylusions inksprays, glitter, modge podge, sequins, glitter, acrylics and more glitter!
Did I mention, please feel free to come like my facebook page!
Have a lovely evening all.xxx
My friend recently won a weekend meditation retreat in a raffle and she very kindly donated her prize to me. So, to say thank you, I have created her this mixed media canvas with my favourite Mindfulness quote.
Materials used: Gesso, Acrylic and watercolour paint, sparkle medium, ‘The Black Currant Stack’ paper, gems, pearlescent liquid acrylic, modge podge and Dylusions ink spray.
I just hope that my friend likes it!
This was a quick page that was inspired by my day job. At work I am disturbed every five minutes by someone asking me questions, the phone etc; which I find really frustrating because it is impossible to get anything done or to concentrate.
I would love some peace and quiet; to have time to think and for everyone to just leave me alone!
This was a piece of artwork that I previously wrote off because I wasn’t 100% happy with it. But, I picked it up a few days ago and started painting it again. I’m still not entirely happy with it, but I will persevere!
I really love big eye art and have been adopting this style in my artwork over the past year.
Here’s a sneak peak at it so far……
I was having a tough time a few months back when I really wasn’t feeling myself. I felt like I didn’t know where I was going in life, so created this art journal page to try to get back in touch with who I am and where i’m going.
To create this page I recycled an old greeting card, which was primed with Gesso and then painted in Acrylic. This page has an altered matchbox with a ‘mini me’ on top and a drawer which pulls out to reveal little cards inside. I plan to create tiny pieces of art on these which will describe who I am as a person.
I love how art journaling encourages you to try out new ideas. There is some amazing altered matchbox art over the Internet, which really inspired me. I just have so many ideas buzzing around my head, but I don’t have enough time to bring them all to life.
